How We Write
Editorial policy.
What we aim for
Every guide on Private Drainage UK is written to answer a genuine question as clearly and accurately as we can, using publicly available regulatory guidance (such as Environment Agency general binding rules guidance and relevant British Standards) and general industry knowledge. Where we're not confident in a figure or claim, we say so rather than presenting it as fact.
What we don't do
- We don't fabricate statistics, case studies, expert quotes or reviews
- We don't invent specific pricing — cost guidance is presented as indicative ranges, reviewed periodically, not fixed quotes
- We don't write content designed to disparage named competitors
- We don't let commercial relationships with specialists influence what a guide says
Review and updates
Regulation and cost content is reviewed periodically; each guide displays the date it was last reviewed. Rules referenced (such as the General Binding Rules) can change, and readers with a specific compliance question should treat our guides as a starting point, not a substitute for professional or regulatory advice.
Corrections
